First Character Poster for The Avengers Features Iron Man

It was assumed — and it has now been confirmed — that Marvel Studios would be bringing Captain America: The First Avenger to this year's 2011 San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC). But, what about writer-director Joss Whedon's The Avengers, which is currently in production?
It's known that Marvel is going to have actors playing S.H.I.E.L.D. (Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement, and Logistics Division) agents "scattered throughout" the convention center. And, the news that a trailer for The Avengers is attached to the end of Captain America has caused some to speculate that Marvel will also show the trailer at SDCC, but that remains to be seen. However, Marvel will apparently be debuting several character posters for the movie, as the first one has just appeared online. Fittingly, it features Iron Man, the formerly B-list Marvel hero that launched the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
The Avengers brings together all of the heroes (and at least one villain) from the Marvel Cinematic Universe of movies to battle a threat that is too powerful for any one of them to handle on their own. The all-star cast includes Robert Downey, Jr. as Iron Man, Mark Ruffalo as the Hulk, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Chris Evans as Captain America, Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye, Scarlett Johansson as the Black Widow, Tom Hiddleston as Loki, Clark Gregg as S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent Phil Coulson, Cobie Smulders as S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent Maria Hill and Samuel L. Jackson as S.H.I.E.L.D. Director Nick Fury.
